JULIA THOMPSON
HEy there!
I’m Julia Thompson—a multimedia producer, photographer, graphic designer and anchor from North Carolina.
LETS GET ACQUAINTED
I'm a Tar Heel born, bred, and dead. I still can't believe my time at UNC is coming to a close.
I'm graduating with my bachelor's degree from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media, along with a certificate in Sports Communication.
Go Heels, always!
I grew up thinking I wanted to be an artist— I just couldn’t decide which kind. One day I was belting Hannah Montana at age five, the next I was drawing, painting or banging on a drum set. I took 2D art classes for years, sculpted in high school, got hooked on piano and guitar, and gave some very dramatic performances to my friends and family (emphasis on the dramatic).
Creativity drives everything I do, and social media is a big part of how I share my work, test ideas, and connect with people through storytelling.
Meet my dogs. My pride and joy!
Fern is on the left, and Weezie is on the right. Growing up, my family fostered and trained therapy dogs. Fern was supposed to be a temporary foster, but she quickly turned into our favorite “foster fail,” and thank goodness she did!
They’re honestly my absolute favorite things in the whole world, and I couldn’t love them more.
I have a huge fear of heights. So, naturally, I went skydiving with my dad and brother before leaving for college.
I passed out before we hit the ground and landed face first in the grass.
0/10 experience.
